March 4th – Up at 6:30 packing for next move. Today the guys got in 80 miles, Dawn 55 & Denise 25. Rode thru El Centro home of the NAF – Blue Angels. As we rode out of town we watched them go thru their routine. I got a few pictures as we were riding. More great weather! Some head winds to begin, but changed to a tail wind as were pedaling up the grade thru the sand dunes. Dawn was supposed to trade biking/driving w/Denise in a town called Glamis, but it was so small we missed it. This added about 10 miles to Dawn’s ride. We ended up at a camp ground at the end of a long, wash board, dirt road – Mitchell camp ground on the Colorado River which is the Arizona/CA boundary line in this area. It’s about 9 miles from Palo Verde – pop. 230.
