March 6th Quartzsite to Tonopah
Another warm, but very windy day which really cuts the speed of the bikes. Mike is tan on the right side only a we are riding east. Left Quartzsite, land of rockhounds. Nothing but RV's in the middle of nowhere! Over the New Water Mtns, through Brenda, over the Renegres Plain to Hope (1 cafe where we had lunch) & 1 church, up to Harcuver then Solome, pop 1000. Dawn rode in the a.m. and traded w/Denise after a 43 mile ride out of Quartzsite. Denise rode the remaining 43 miles to Tonopah, AZ - Saddle Mtn. RV Park. One long road from Salome to our final destination - beautiful scenery. One dead cow and one stinky dead horse - PHEW! One side note from Mike - he thinks Russ likes riding the interstate because he seems to have a fetish for bungee cords. His collection is nearing 10o, plus he found a back saw and a hole alignment pin. We might have a garage sale on the way back home.
